There was patch of undisturbed woods on Harris Road in Alpharetta Georgia. As we, the surrounding neighborhoods found out, the land was zoned for townhomes in the early 1980's before any other homes were built in the area. Recently the owner sold the land and it is being developed. This web site is being built to document the destruction of the trees and the effect the change will have on the surrounding homes. Especially the drainage from the small creek that runs between the townhomes and the homes on Harris Ridge Court. There is already a problem when it rains hard for several days it will probably be worse after they finish building.

As part of the project approval the city required the developer contribute to the replacement of the bridge of Harris Road. There was nothing wrong with the bridge but the city volunteered the taxpayers to pay about $150,000 to replace the bridge ( pdf ). Goto the bridge section to see some before and after bridge pictures.
